timber

terminology

LVL - laminated veneer lumber

dar - dressed all round

rh - rough header - (has grooves to prevent twisting)

MGP10 - machine graded pine, with elasticity E=10MPa

H3 - treated for above ground external use

treated pine

contains copper, which when wet induces electrolytic corrosion of
steel , or zinc plated fasteners
must use either stainless steel , or specially coated copper alloy fasteners

F5 and F7 pine is visually graded so that even though its physical properties
may in reality be identical to MGP10 , they are not guaranteed to have
suficient elasticity to match MGP10 in critical structural applications such as
replacement of hardwood floor joists
